First,
initialize OriginC +
Power Origin by pressing the # key.
Enter the Prod ID, date and time of day. Key # to scan through the display; all fields being set, key [ * ] to start the clock.
To shut-down, key [ # ] during five seconds, until Stopped appears.
And then,
whatever your need is...
Initialize an Aaton or a Panavision camera: plug the Lemo5 cable into the timecode socket of the camera, key [ * ], Origin displays Good 00.0.
Check if a camera clock is within drift limits: connect Origin to the camera once again, and key [ * ] Origin displays Good, fair, bad, or dif-time (different time), followed by the amount of drift in frame tenths.
Initialize with the Smpte protocol: simultaneously press [ * & 0 ], to initialize or check timecode (Nagra IVS-TC, Fostex PD-4, etc.)
Read timecode generated by a sound recorder: press [ * & 2 ], time is displayed on Origin's screen.
Timecode a nonTC clock equipped audio recorder: Press [ * & 1 ], Origin permanently generates an Smpte signal to be recorded on one audio track.
Select 24, 25, 30fps Smpte: key [ * & 4 ], then [ # ] to confirm.
