Edilite delivers keycode cut and pull-lists from VideoTC only edls. Its claim to fame is its abilty to translate the edl of the first (best light) transfer into an edl carrying the VideoTC of the selected transfer, insuring that all edits and M2s can be directly imported into Flame, Henry, etc.
It also accurately converts SD made edls into HD edls.
Edilite
A Tool for Film-Based projects, Edilite generates Keycode cut
and pull lists out of video-TC only EDLs generated by non film
devoted NLEs. It also increases both the efficiency and
accuracy of on-line editing film-based projects which
retransfer selected takes.
Edilite generates Keycode cut and pull lists by correlating the CMX3600 edls delivered by video editing machines, to the dailies .ATN transfer lists delivered by Keylink (or 'Logalone' its standalone companion). It also translates the video-TC of 'one-light' transfers into the video-TC of the color corrected 'selected' transfer. Respecting all motion effects introduced during editing, the auto-assemble of the selected takes into Henry, Flame, etc., becomes a totally automatic operation. Edilite handles 24@25, 25@25 PAL, 30@29.97 df/ndf and 24@29.97 NTSC.
Several 'Dailies .ATN' can be concatenated prior to the "build" process; in the same way several 'Selected .ATN' can be added to build the final-final edl in case "Keycode missing" warnings ask for a more "boundary-generous" re-transfer of some 'selected' takes.
A "Tape Match" menu allows the operator to manually correlate tape IDs of the 'dailies .ATN' to tape IDs of the 'editing .EDL' in case they do not carry absolutely identical descriptors.
Preloader converts any 'foot & frame' indexed speadsheet into a file that Keylink imports to insert VITC+characters and to generate a video indexed transfer list for the editing room.
It also converts transfer lists such as ALE into ScriptLogs that Keylink imports as well.
RS-422 connected to a VTR or not, Logalone handles all possible additions to a telecine transfer list. While leaving Keycode, VideoTC, and AudioTC linked together, it eliminates overlaps, fine tunes in/out points, syncs AudioTC, and allows for the introduction of formerly unseen take breaks.
Hardware: Edilite softwares run in any Windows 95 to 2000 standalone PCs.
